Senior Parents        

September Update

We had a great start to the year with our senior breakfast and parade on the first day of school.  There was so much food left over that we were able to get a good start on stocking the concession stand for upcoming volleyball and basketball games.

Speaking of the concession stand, Lisa Moore has volunteered to keep it stocked with all the necessary goodies. And Twylia Pell is going to recruit our workers for each game night. Thanks so much to Lisa and Twylia.  Please give Twylia a call at (903) 965-9069 to get your name on her calendar.  We need to cover 9 or 10 volleyball nights and 4 or 5 basketball nights.  Parents or students can work to help us raise money for our senior events this year, so you can sign up your senior kiddos to help out as well.

After discussing various options for raising money at our first meeting, we have come up with three ways you as parents can contribute to the cause:

1)     Each senior’s parents can donate $125.00 to the fund themselves and not have to help with fundraisers.

2)     Each senior and/or parents can work at least 5 fundraiser events to earn points toward their donation amount. (Basically, each event is worth $25.00) Some of the possible events available:

1)     concession stand hours (2 games a night = 1 event)

2)     booth at the Fall Festival

3)     picture with Santa

4)     bake sale(s)

[We still need volunteers to take on organizing #2-4]

3)     A senior or his parents can get a cash donation (or donations) from businesses or individuals with a value of at least $125.00.

We have also signed up to have a paintball booth at the upcoming Tailgate Rally/Panther Fan Zone during Homecoming on Friday, October 2nd. We will need help with organizing this booth and getting workers for that night. Please respond if you have access to paintball guns or can help with getting the targets together. (The faces of teachers and coaches on wooden cutouts would work really well. Seems to be popular to shoot at those!!)
