Dear Parents:
Welcome back. We at the Bells at the Elementary Cafeteria hope that you had a great summer and that every one is ready to return to school for a great year. Just a few items that you need to be aware of this year, our breakfast is again $1.25 and our lunch is $2.00. Children from second grade and up are able to purchase tea for a $.25. This does not take the place of their milk but is an extra. From third grade and up, we offer ala carte sales. The prices are as follows:
An entrée like pizza or the main item that we have for lunch is $1.75
French Fries or Tater tots are $1.00

We had a problem last year with students going over the charge amount. We are checking into a program where you can pay on line and then be able to check your child’s balance. We are hoping to know something real soon, but for now you must send money or checks to school. Bags have been furnished to all teachers with your child’s name on then for them to place their money in when they bring it from home. You may pay by the day, the week or the month. I have made a chart so that it might help you figure how much money you will need.

A full pay student will only be able to charge up to $9.00. Then they will not be able to eat a regular lunch. They will be given a peanut butter & jelly sandwich with a carton of milk. We will do this for 2 days and then other arrangements will need to be made. A reduced pay student will be able to charge a $2.80 and then they will not be able to have a regular lunch. They too will receive a peanut butter & jelly sandwich and a carton of milk. Our goal is to feed all students a Bells ISD., but we can not let them eat without paying. I am available from 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM for you to call and find out what your child’s account balance is or from 1:00 PM or 3:00 PM. I will be more that happy to help in any way that I can. I will try to send notices home every Friday of the students that have a low balance, and before that if needed. We have several students with outstanding balances from last year and they will need to clear those up soon.
