A Week In Review:

In phonics, we learned about digraphs ey and ph, the vc/v rule, and the sounds of g and j.  In math, we learned about measuring length. In science, students learned about basic needs for animals, kinds of animals, and insects.  For Friday Afternoon Club we had tryouts for the end of the year program. Please remember that there will be no school next week. Have a safe and happy Spring Break!

A Peek At Next Week:

In phonics, we will learn about the doubling rule, ghost letter digraphs, and spelling with the dropping and doubling rule.  In math, we will learn about graphs. In science, students will be studying animal groups, life cycles, and how animals grow and change.  Students will get a new spelling list on Monday. Please help your child study their spelling words and sentences each week. We will have a test on Friday. Students will do a “cold read” on Monday of the decodable reading story “Signs to Know.” Please help your child practice reading the decodable reader each night. They will be asked to read it on Friday for the “hot read”.  Please remember to sign your child’s folder with an “R” each night that they read to you from their book bag. Students should bring their book bags back to class each day along with their Saxon Phonics homework and their “Daily Folders”.

** We will have Early Release on Tuesday, March 23rd at 12:00 p.m.
