SECOND GRADE NEWS

LANGUAGE ARTS – This week we enjoyed reading several Fairy Tales.   During writing we worked on C.U.P.S. and proofreading our stories.  We continued to review sight words and previous spelling words.   A new spelling list came home on Wednesday.

NEXT WEEK– We will begin an exciting unit about “Flat Stanley”.  With this study we will write a letter and address an envelope.  We  will look at suffix ous, final stable syllables cious and tious, and patterns. We will have a spelling and phonics test on Tuesday.   

 
MATH – We completed our study of multiplication with a test on Wednesday.  We started learning about division.

NEXT WEEK – We will be working on division and generating number pairs.

 

SOCIAL STUDIES – We continued our study of “Working Together” by learning more about goods and services, people who provide a service to our community, and producers and consumers.

NEXT WEEK – We will learn how people make choices about earning, spending, and saving money.  We will complete our unit of study with a test on Friday.
