Innovative Teachers and Students at Work!
Collinsville ISD
is available to the world through its Internet Radio class. By leveraging
donations and used hardware, a student broadcasting class offers music, news ,
interviews and weather forecasts through the Internet. Ken Kemp, the district's
technology director and Intermediate school principal reports that the class is
an effective way to introduce students to knowledge and skills needed in a
broadcasting career. The class was recently featured on a
KXII new
report. Students from Melissa Ridge
Elementary in Melissa ISD recently competed in the national Interwrite Makeover
Video Contest. The students, with help from third grade teacher Karen Rose,
created a video parody entitled “It’s
a Low Tech Life”. Congratulations to these innovative
students.

whether the school where the borrower is teaching is listed as a designated
low-income school, the length of teaching time, and in certain cases the
subject-matter being taught. Some loans have no benefits. 2007-2008

so would result in the individual’s certificate being placed on inactive status,
